Had had a thread going back on the SCGB about this.
There seems to be a small possibility that N. Ireland could get snow next week, and if it does I'll be ready. Our farm is lowland, but we do have 2 fields where ski-ing is possible.
Front field.
4 acres, basically a green run
Danes Hill.
8 acres and is a good blue at the top
We have 2 lifts
New Holland 7740 (100hp)
Polaris Quad (250cc/ 2 wheel drive)
Grooming
Our 7740 tractor also double as a groomer and the bucket on the front loader will be used to compact the snow

My biggest worry with this being a new development would be a lack of avalanche control, do you do much blasting?

Wasn't there someone with a farm who made his own snowmaking machine on one of the sites a couple of years ago?

Tomorrow's Tuesday - we need co-ords for your new destination resort so we can get there in time from the mega-dump!
And, in all seriousness, if it happens, will be up north on Sat if it lasts that long - the wee man's playing rugby in Coleraine.
Hope to see you on "thon wee skeein treck, hey"

Wan't sufficient snow on our farm this morning so I headed a few miles inland just south of Coleraine to a friends farm.
Upper slopes 10cm
Lower slopes 10cm
Temp -1
Weather Sunny
Managed to get in about 5 runs down a field that had been grazed by sheep, so the grass was very short and had a good covering of snow.
Probably a total of 500m covered altogether

Most of the snow has disappeared here in Coleraine, but we are not much higher than sea level.
Plan to head to the North Sperrins this afternoon. I know a few quiet mountain roads and forestry tracks which should have 15-20cm. Will take camera and post pics later. Should get upto abouy 1200ft at top with good snow down to about 500ft.

Wear The Fox Hat,
I haven't been near Ballymena today, but we have a clear view of Slieve an nora (spelling) from Coleraine and it appears to have a real good covering, but it is about 25 miles away. Knock Laid also looks good, but its a hell of a climb

Just been up skiing in the North Sperrins about 8 miles south west of Coleraine. Road takes you to about 200m and I walked upto about 350m. Skied down a nice sheltered forestry trail. Good 20cm of powder!!!! Probably a total length of a mile. Not that steep but glad I did it. Took my mum and Murphy the puppy too. Going to post pics in media, so if someone can put them here it would be good.
Intend to take the landrover up tomorrow and see if we can get a bit higher. There is powder in them there hill, you just need to know where to look
