Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Marker griffon 13 v look SPX

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Changing my skis and the binding offered as standard with the soul 7 had are the griffon 13 or look spx. Price seems to be pretty similar and I am sure that whichever one I opt for will be suitable.
Any thoughts on which is better or are they much the same?
Currently have the Rossi axial which I believe is the spx binding but with a different name and never had an issue. Bits I have read about the griffon suggest issues about not clicking in correctly or to much movement in the toegiving incorrect release, any thoughts on this or is it a red herring?

I've not had any problems with incorrect release on my Griffons but it does require more force than most bindings to get the boot in. It is much easier to clip into my Tyrolia Attack 13 bindings.
I don't have any experience of the Look SPX to compare.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Performance of both is very similar but the Griffon runs higher forward pressure so needs a very clean put and more pressure to click in.

However the boot sole types that each accept are quite different which is an important factor to consider.

The Griffon ID has a multi norm certified (MNC) toe which will accept alpine, GripWalk, WTR and AT soles whereas last seasons SPX's had toes that accepted alpine and WTR soles but for this 18/19 season they've changed the SPX to being alpine or GripWalk.

@spyderjon, every day is a school day, didn’t realise there was so much difference in boot soles. So my boots are Lange RX120 LV which I assume are alpine soles so either binding would be ok.
If the griffon runs higher forward and a cleaner click in does that mean it is more secure?
Not sure where I am going to with this question but my curiosity has been stirred Puzzled
