Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski goggles AND a wooly hat just doesn't work!

I don't like wearing Ski helmets so I'm left with the option of sunglasses and a wooly hat or ski goggles and no wooly hat. My ski goggles come up to my hairline, which means no room for the wooly hat to sit. I've tried wearing the hat first and then goggles on top of it but the sponge in the goggles sits on top of the hat weirdly!

What the man says. Generations of skiers managed with goggles and woolly hats.

In fine weather it is sunnies only, as it gets colder, a wooly headband goes on to keep me tabs & forehead warm then the sunnies get replaced by goggles then my hood starts going up & down according to conditions then in the worst conditions the hood goes up with goggles over the top & the hood tucked under tthe top of the goggles and a scarfe tucked under the bottom of the goggles, it ain't pretty but I tend not to worry about such things.

Been skiing today at temps ~minus 11 with hat & goggles no problem: hat comes to mid-forehead and meets gogs. no probs with no gap at that point.
Warmer weather I wear baseball cap and sunnies...

Cut two holes in the hat, put goggles on, pull hat OVER goggles until holes locate over eyes. OR, pull hat over face until eye holes are located at or near eyes, the put goggles over hat.

The latter might prove a bit itchy, you might want to go for an angora hat or something similarly soft.

@Themasterpiece, would be cheaper to buy new goggles. Those hats are expensive!

NewSki,

How thick is your hat? Shocked I skied for 31 years with a hat and goggles, without any problems.

Then I switched to a helmet. wink

adithorp,

Sorry Adithorp. What's the question? I've genuinely not hear the word "whoot" before. Am I alone? Puzzled

@NewSki, disregarding the slightly confusing few posts above, I recommend a smaller woolly hat which doesn't overlap on the area required by the goggles.

I made the mistake of buying an end of line woolly hat for the PSB which was too large and overlapped with my goggles - in poor conditions this led to ghastly condensation issues and a thoroughly miserable day in bad weather. The next day my very kind flatmate offered me a much smaller and simpler hat to try which worked very well and @lechInowlooklikeapineapplebob declared himself satisfied with the swap Shocked .

Change the hat to suit your goggles, would be my recommendation. Finding a flatmate with as little interest in fashion as me certainly helps. Very Happy
