Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

recommendation for back specialist orthopaedic

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello,

I’ve been struggling with pain in back and leg for 3 months. Managed to get some physio and therapist is skeptical about any discy thing but don’t completely discard. I’m treating mainly hamstrings pain which has improved but I’m stressed with the risk of missing the season... would like to find a specialist to get an decisive diagnostic and get some serious treatment.

Any recommendation ? I’m in Fleet/Hampshire, not too far from London.

I can't give you a recommendation, but I can give you some idea about what to expect....as someone who suffered lower back problems for many years...finally ending up with back surgery.

- You are right to get this seen by an Orthopaedic Surgeon....which is something I should have done years ago, instead of messing about with every Therapist you can think of.
- They will almost certainly take an MRI scan
- It is quite possible this is inconclusive...backs are tricky.
- If you have only been suffering for 3 months, they will likely try all less invasive approaches first
- It is only after everything else has failed, that major surgery becomes an option
