Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tic-tac is just showing off. I reckon I could probably do two of them before I'd cross my skis and land flat on my face.

Last IASI training course I did we had to tic-tac back up the hill. Exhausting at 3,000m, but satisfying in a masochistic kind of way when timing, movement and edge control all come together.

It's just a test (or development) of timing, coordination, edge control. And it gives the coach a giggle. I don't like them because it's a tough drill. I'm sure if I was better at them I'd think they were great wink

@kieranm, IASI, like the Swiss, are keen on demoing drills during exams and have gone back to using some classics that help for mogul skiing and SL skiing like tic tacks, spiess turns, swedish turns etc. plus some limited freestyle which is all good in my view. I suck at most of em, must practice Toofy Grin
