Poster: A snowHead
|
Yesterday I saw a Bear in Verbier, and quite a lot of other people will have too.
Looking very fit after the winter, perhaps a bit too thin for my wife's thinking though.
Seemed friendly, but I would have been careful not to show any aggression...the thing is a killer after all.
I didn't have my camera with me so will have to make do with a stock photo.

Awesome, hope everyone leaves it alone. Hope your wife isn't thinking of feeding up . Love to see a picture if you ever manage to get one.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@rungsp, ...the last non-grylled bear in CH went by the romantic name of M13. He was a brown baaaaar. Now deceased. I assume he listened to M82 on his iPod.

Last spring a bear sat in the middle of a trail at Whistler, people were skiing round it and it didn't seem remotely bothered!
We get them all the time round our way, not really too much to worry about as long as you don't sneak up on them and/or they don't have cubs with them.

Very, very rare in Western Europe, but they seem to be making a bit of a comeback lately.

I sat next across the aisle to the programme making Bear on the BA flight back from the EOSB. I agree with rungsp's wife he was a bit too wiry but I suppose after all that eating vegetation and wood bark who can be surprised. He refused the BA Business class offering unlike the snowhead beside him who made an admirable dent into the BA champagne supplies .
