Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Overnight stop on A26?

I am sure this is covered in other posts but I struggled to find something concise. We normally stay at the Novotel in Reims on the way down, but this year have got a later train on Maundy Thursday and so am not sure we'd make it there before midnight. Looking for recommendations for similar along the A26 with private parking. Looked at the IBIS etc in St Quentin but it is public parking which is not conducive to a decent nights sleep for the OH. An F1 and similar though is not conducive to a decent nights sleep for yours truly though wink

St Quentin Campanile - that's where we usually stop if Reims is too far.

It has it's own car park - although it might not be gated like some are.

I would probably stick with staying in Reims - arriving at midnight and having a lie in! Maybe you could also turn up early for your train in the hope of getting on the one before.

We use the Novotel at Tinqueux which is a bit more accessible than the accor hotels in the city centre.

Yes - Tinqueux area is best if stopping in Reims.

@Cheesie168, I've used the Ace Hotel Arras/Beaurains several times - quiet, cheap and spotlessly clean. Restaurant (and a Macdonalds) next door. Gated car park although the gate has always been open when I've been there. I expect they close it at night.

The Hotel BB at St Quentin has gated parking, comfy beds and is far enough from the Autoroute to be quiet.

Another vote for Hotel BB at St Quentin - stayed there four or five times, often arriving after midnight with kids - 5 mins from the autoroute but is quiet

Cheesie168, when we arrive late evening we have always gone for Holiday Inn Express in Arras.
Just an hour from Calais. Friendly. Quiet. Good breakfast.
Worth joining the IHG Rewards Club. Free. Small discounts, but also care with rooms to give you good night's sleep.

Thanks for the tips in Arras and St Quentin. We've used the Novotel at Tinqueux for the last 14 years or so and it fits the bill winter and summer, so have not had much reason to look elsewhere.
