Poster: A snowHead
|
A classic weekend's racing at St Anton produced another sensation for Hermann Maier, winning a very tough downhill. Even the surgeons who reconstructed his leg must be astonished. Then Bode Miller won Sunday's slalom (his first slalom victory in 2 years). And fortunes turned up for Alain Baxter, who got the second best time on the second run of the slalom, producing 12th place overall.
This report on the slalom, and Bode Miller's 'echoes of Tomba', from Ski Racing.

Along with Chemmy's form this season, things are looking up for British ski racing. Must be all those Austrian trainers....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi David, Just a wee heads up, but some people tape the racing to watch later, for example tonight after work.
I would be nice if the World Cup results weren't in the post title.
On the other hand probably good to know the slaloms worth watching!

Well, we now have Dave Ryding going for Britain in the Olympics. What are his chances of grabbing a medal, one wonders?

I read this from the top and assumed it was some kind of Goodwood Revival ski race meeting especially as it starts "a classic weekend's racing" !
