Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mantra M6 skins

Has anyone cut a pair of skins to fit a pair of 177 Mantra M6s and, if so, what did you go for and would you recommend them? I have a pair of Camox Freebirds with pre-cut skins for longer tours but would quite like to go uphill on the M6s for some short stuff out of resort.

I'm not sure this will help. I ordered a pair of g3 alpinist+ universal, which never turned up. Seems like they were actually out of stock. The guide I was with commented that he was trying black diamond skins, but wasn't impressed, so was going back to g3s. This was for a mantra 5. The one thing that g3 did manage to get to me was their trim tool. Haven't taken it out of the packaging for obvious reasons.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks. If it’s any consolidation I’ve heard good things about that trim tool if you ever get something to use it on!!

Picked up a pair of >these< from sportspursuit for £99 (reduced from £165) and trimmed to width them for some 184 Salomon Sentinel skis (similar to Mantras)

Didn't bother with a skin-trim device - just laid them flat on a cutting surface and used a sharp scalpel along the ski-edge, then ran a soldering iron along the skin to seal the nylon

I've just shortened them too, to fit some 177 length Blizzard Zero-G skis using a BlackDiamond tail kit https://www.snowleader.co.uk/en/ski-skin-tail-kit-BLAD01620.html
