Poster: A snowHead
|
Good evening,
Going back to Tignes April 10th-15th
There are 8 people in the party (5 Adults & 3 children) Looking on-line for costs and ski hire seems to have gone up from last year
Would we be better to reserve now and get on-line prices or have a stroll around the town and haggle
Do the French mind a bit of haggling or would we be insulting them
Basic ski's and boots for everyone
Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Have you tried looking on Skimium? There will be discount deals and you can often find discount vouchers online too. And extra 5% off if you have a Decathlon card. And discounts for quantities.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@mjh1972, Most of the staff will be just that and not allowed to haggle. There are dozens of discount codes kicking around on line.
That said if you are in Le Lac try here:

Most of my mates use it and find it competitive, and Jean-Charles still skis every day so he knows his onions!

Alpinresorts and Skimium were the most competitive I could find for Tignes... Former you pay upfront in full, latter you pay a deposit and pay the rest in store

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, I booked ski hire at Mountain Story (Tignes Le Lac) via snowrental for our group yesterday (flying out this weekend) - there was a 24h flash sale that ended midnight but I've just checked today and the prices quoted still appear similar.
I did look at a number of options before booking based on advice I'd seen on other threads on snowheads, including using promo codes or booking direct with ski club membership discount but snowrental worked out the cheapest.
If you think you're going to be using this same shop in Tignes Le Lac I'm happy to provide a review of their service when I get back.

I would book in advance, it's unlikely you'll be able haggle much as unless you have time on your hands, plus its a ball ache going from shop to shop to try and save a few euro.
There are enough discount codes floating around, try one of those.
