The director Warren Miller who died recently was well known for his ski films which did a lot to promote interest in skiing. However back in the 1920s and 1930s the German director Dr Arnold Fanck was a pioneer of ski films. He's probably best known for his 1931 film "Der Weisse Rausch" filmed in St Anton with the founder of the Arlberg ski school Hannes Schneider and actress (later film director) Leni Riefenstahl. However his 1920 silent film called in English "The wonder of snowshoes" ( in those days skis were often referred to as snowshoes) first introduced a wider audience to skiing. There are various techniques on display including snowplough, stem turns, jump turns, kick turns and telemark. Fanck was also a pioneer user of slow motion filming.
Here's the film link, hope some of you find it of interest.
Absolutely fantastic as above- fit, strong, amazing skills and balls the size of a small planet.
Where is it filmed? Is it Murren / Wengen or somewhere else?

Neat. Considering the gear they were using they must have been pretty tough. No women, I think. The poles were huge.

I missed that. But if you look at the Warren Miller tributes there are sequences of him winding up his (Arriflex?) camera. I guess that iust means I'm old.
