I'm after some ski's for fast(ish) piste carving. They don't need to be off-piste friendly. I would favour ski's that are excellant on hard packed runs. Are the Z5's worth a try or is there anything better?
Thanks in advance.

October Ski and Board magazine rated Rossi Z9Ti for 'on piste carving' awards and also Volkl Race Tiger RC.
I have not tried either.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

chris,
I have the Z9s and love them. They feel so stable at speed, and hold an edge well. Ice, what, ice? was one of my comments!
I also used them in bumps, powder and crud, and enjoyed them in all three.
I believe the Z5s are the intermediate ski from the same range, so if you are a fast(ish), aggressive skier you would probably prefer the Z9s.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I have a pair of Z5s and love them. They are a bit on the soft side for me, but as I couldn't get a pair of Z9s, I settled for the Z5s. I'll certainly be going for Z9s or equivalent next season.
I would suggest going for the Z9s if I were you. I'm an aggressive, reasonably light girly instructor so you'll probably fair better with the Z9s by the sound of it.

I know loads of people having raved about Fischers RX8s. After my week on them I'm going to join them. as long as you're not afer off piste friendly these skis are superb especially for the £225 I paid from Ski Bilek. They hold an edge on anything and boy are they fast. I could really tell the difference between using these skis and my Legend 4800s.
