Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off to Mayrhofen at Easter, and looking for any recommendations for ski school for kids (preferably one that offers half days), and for good equipment hire?
Many thanks

The two main ski schools (for kids anyway) are "SMT" and "Ski school 3000"
SMT are based on the Penken side at the Pilz bar and i have heard good reviews, we had some extended family use them for young kids last year and they enjoyed it.
Ski School 3000 are based over on the Ahorn mountain, this is a bit of a pain if you intend to ski the penken each day as you have to drop the kids off and then make your way over town to the lift (10min walk) but in my opinion the Ahorn is a much better hill for kids to learn on as it is much quieter and more family friendly
There is also Die Roten Profis who run a lot of classes on the Penken side but every instructor of theirs i met has been an arrogant **** so i would never recommend them.
For ski hire go and see Ian Kilgour, he owns and runs the ski shop directly opposite the Penken lift and has brand new kit every year, it used to be a Sport2000 shop but dont know who he is using now for booking but just search Ian kilgour ski rental
