Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what 'closed to skiers at 5:45pm' means in practice? We have a weekend lift pass for Avoriaz and are considering going to Aquariaz for a soak before heading down in Prodains to the car on Sunday night.

Clearly the lift keeps on going til late, but does it just mean that our lift pass isn't valid for the downward journey after this time, and we'd have to pay... Or that we won't be allowed in the lift with skis? Or something else?

I think your lift passes will still work.
The lift only goes every 20 min or so on an evening and shuts for 30min around 7pm (can't remember the exact time).
Prodains express runs until midnight Fri and Sat, 10pm Sunday and 9pm Mon to Thurs.

Did the same thing 2 years ago - went for a cheeky beer in the town after and took the Prodains Express lift back up to Avoriaz on lift pass - no questions.

Even when we arrived in resort, we left the car at Prodains Car Park, showed the lift guys our ClubMed reservations and they let us on in civvies and Bags.
