Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Oakley A frame helmet strap

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've finally seen sense and bought a helmet for this season. While my Oakley A Frame goggles fit over, the strap is at its limit and seems to "lift" the goggles slightly from my cheekbones - not so much to cause a problem but enough to be aware of the "fresh air" (problem in a cold wind though?).

I have seen a "helmet strap" for around £15 but cannot see how this fits, or how to remove the standard strap without pulling hard at it and risking splitting the plastic.

Can anyone help?

sproggski, from memory (my goggles are currently packed ready for Saturday), if you peel back the foam very slightly at the side of the goggle, you can pull the strap off. The new one snaps on in its place.

sproggski, The standard A Frame straps run a bit on the short size so it's worth giving the strap a good stretch to see if it's the strap length that's lifting the frame or whether you're helmet set-up needs the different attachment that's on the helmet strap. Stretching sorted both my A Frames but it can depend how the strap comes round the sides of your helmet.

If you want a helmet strap I've a brand new A Frame one you can have for a tenner donation to snowheads. And it includes instructions wink. PM me your address if you want it.

Cheers chaps.

I had another scout around at various website pics and figure that the V shape brackets lift the strap away from the head so it doesn't have to go through tight angles around the edges of the helmet.

Double cheers spyderjon, check your inbox shortly.

That is an impressive level of organisation and forethought.

Well, it's a case of: left home on Monday morning to go to work. Return home around 7pm on Friday (depending on traffic down the M1). Finish packing and drive to Nells' (an hour and a half). The get up and go from there on Saturday morning. So I thought it would be better to pack most stuff last weekend, then throw in the shirts etc on Friday night.
