Poster: A snowHead

Been reading some articles online on the benefits of inline skates / rollerblades as off season training for alpine skiers.... anyone got any thoughts / experience of this? Should I bring back the 90s in my local neighbourhood?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yeah me too. I was on quads mostly, though I had blades for a little while and the occasional trip to the ice rink. Skating on skis is a useful skill anyway, whenever you get to a flat bit, or if you need to get warm quickly.

Never found skating making any difference to my skiing really. I used to skate la Defense to home in Paris center, slaloming down the Champs, every day back from work. I really couldn't see any transfer in skills. I skied just as well, or badly at the start of the season as before. Maybe if you've never skied before. For a workout you are better running, swimming or cycling IMHO.
Again for Cross country it is a different skill set and rollerblading is discouraged.
