Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

That's the price to add ski baggage to the Economy Light fare.

If you booked Economy Classic (or higher), you get 1 free ski carriage as well as the included checked baggage.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I’m sure last season mine was free and up to 23kg, you just need to phone them to book it on.

Looks like you can take a ski bag instead of your free 23kg allowance

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Wot andy said, as long as you don't book the cheapest Economy Light fare all the other fares include free ski carriage, you just need to phone on +44 371 945 9747 after you'd made your online booking to tell them you're taking skis and I usually ask them to send me email confirmation of the booking details which then includes the added note "special baggage:confirmed". Thunderer, no your free ski bag is in addition to your 23kg hold bag allowance (if you book Economy Classic or higher). Madeye-Smiley

So confusing, and badly described. But as others have confirmed, if you have booked a regular Economy fare within Europe [not Economy Light], then you get a 23Kg bag PLUS Skis, boots & helmet in a max of TWO bags. And you need to call the service centre etc.

"Ski or snowboarding equipment as free baggage In addition to your free baggage allowance, you may take one piece of ski or snowboarding equipment free of charge on your Lufthansa flight.* The maximum weight of an additional piece of ski or snowboarding equipment must be within the weight limits of the travel class you have booked" (assuming Economy regular or classic fare and above). .

So I can take hand luggage 8kg + ski bag at 23kg as part of my free baggage allowance, phoned and booked it in, and asked for an email receipt, thank you !!!

Just make sure to inform them you are bringing skis. You don’t need to do that with other Star Alliance airlines eg SAS, but Lufthansa need to know in advance for some reason.
