Might be going to Alpbach in Austria and looking for new boots. People have recommended these guys: http://www.sport-hun.at/
Anyone have experience with them?

@rjs thanks. Do you know if they do standard alpine skiing boots or is it all race boots?

@skiinglegs, I’d be astonished if any shop could survive just on race boots. Even is Austria. But everyday’s a schoolday...

@skiinglegs, They specialise in alpine race boots and super light, race orientated ski touring boots.
They do have recreational boots, although how many and what kind of selection, I don't know.
My experience of them: I asked for a Nordica boot with a 130 flex and they tried very hard to convince me that I would prefer something soft and fluffy. (To be fair, in street clothes I don't "look" like someone who would want to or be able to ski in that kind of boot.) Eventually they ordered what I wanted and then tried very hard to do some "boot fitting" of them. I have the happy situation that Nordica boots fit me out of the box. Apparently, that's a rare occurrence and so they were very keen to adjust them even though I said I was happy with them.
They have made 2 sets of footbeds for me. The first pair were perfect. The second pair weren't. I took them back, they altered them and since then they have been fine.
Of people that I know around here who have used them, most are very happy with them and the others have said never again.

Yes, either go to Conni's in Alpbach (make sure you ask for Sebastian, the shop is under the Postalm bar) or Hannes Lintner (upstairs) - this shop is by the lift station - or H&N (in Reith about 5 mins drive away) are very good but as mentioned above it is mainly stiff boots. Alpbach is such a nice place.

Another vote in support of Conny's customer service. I can't comment on their boot fitting as I snowboard, but their efforts to make sure I had the right kit were outstanding.
