Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Has anyone stayed at the above? Reviews difficult to find, we only want somewhere cheap for 4 nights and this seems to fit the bill, the only thing we're bothered about is how easy it is to get on the slopes, can anyone advise? Couple of our group will be in ski school at campo smith so wanting it to be easy for them to get there and google maps isn't really helping! Thanks

We spent 4 or 5 nights in the Campo Smith carpark in our motorhome back in February and walked the dog all around the area.. It's no more than a brisk 4 minute walk from the hotel, over the footbridge opposite to the carpark, and up to the lift. The extra minute by road might be worth it if there is ice on the, very, humpbacked footbridge.
Although there is just the one lift at Campo Smith and all the schools use it, it was only busy first thing as most instructors keep the lessons up in the middle zone. Most of the lifts to the very top are fairly steep drags. All the runs this side of the village are tree lined and very sheltered except for the extreme top. The pistes at the far end were virtually empty, even with fresh overnight snow.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They were still building this a year ahead of the Olympics last time we visited Bardonecchia and as
@BoardieK
mentioned it's just a short walk upto the lifts so a good option for a short stay.

I've not stayed here but I have walked past it.
As mentioned it is a short walk to the campo Smith ski area, but it is also on the free ski bus route and you can hire ski lockers at bottom of slopes if you didn't want to walk with equipment.
