Hey, bit of an escapade type question....
Can Fieberbrunn -> full Saalbach loop -> back to Fieberbrunn be done in a day? Anyone ever attempted it (from piste maps i have no concept of actual distance, but if you can do the 3V escapade in a hard day surly one can do this?

Only been in summer but not that hard - it's all one valley once you get over to Saalbach side

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Levi215, Yes, it's called "the Ski Circus Challenge" and has been done by a few people of my acquaintance, including some of our guests, one of whom was a lady who had only had four weeks of skiing experience. Here's the link: https://www.saalbach.com/en/winter/activities/skicircus-circuits_a_1720
You will see that it totals a distance of 68km and takes all day. You have to watch out for the closing time of the TirolS gondola to get you back to Fieberbrunn, so as early a start as possible is recommended. I suppose that, if you get as far as Leogang and feel that you're pushing it for time, you could get quite easily from Leogang to Fieberbrunn by public transport or taxi.

@Levi215, Did it last year with a group of us and we started early from Fieberbrunn. Had lunch half way down to Leogang and then some went on to complete the circuit and some shared a taxi from Leogang back to Fieberbrunn (not that far and not expensive). That means you can have a mixed ability group and there's a bail-out for those that want it. The whole circuit is on groomers and nothing too testing, the most time consuming thing is lift time.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

This could be the sticking point (literally) for some - especially if at the "Chicken Man".

You'll need to Register first of course.

Thanks, @Pruman, & @Tatman's Tours doesn't sound like you need to blast it then? Comfortable first lift and back at the link by 1 at a decent but safe lick?

@Levi215, We did it on Christmas Eve just gone. Conditions were good (hard, fast and quiet pistes) meaning we didn't tire easily and didn't need to stop as often as usual. We started from Hinterglemm going up the Westgipfel lift to start the day, Schonleiten, Leogang, Saalbach, Fieberbrunn then stopped for a late lunch at Hochalm (to make sure we didn't get stuck in Fieberbrunn) before completing the loop. We then did a few runs down the Westgipfel for good measure.
I carry a GPS in my pocket so I can look back at what we've done if it's helpful to get an idea... https://www.strava.com/activities/810423482

@hammerite, It's worth noting that the complete circuit, including all 68km of the Ski Circus Challenge, was accomplished on good pistes, and at a time when the Alps in general hadn't seen any natural snowfall for weeks and many other ski resorts were struggling.

Tatman's Tours indeed, it was amazing the amount of ground covered on mostly man made. When the natural snow arrived a day or so later we were skiing nowhere near as fast!
