Poster: A snowHead

Did a quick search and couldn't find any threads/posts on it...
Stumbled across a crowdfunding campaign that was launched a year ago to own a share of RED Mountain Resort BC (Unfortunately only open to US investors)
https://www.startengine.com/startup/red-mountain-resort
Interesting all the same.
Note: Admin if there is already a thread on this, please feel free to merge it also move it to another section if not suitable for The Piste.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Only open to Canadian investors at the moment (I'm pondering it...), open to US investors too sometime soon.

I'd jump at the chance myself, even if only in for $1000, although I'd try going in higher. Certainly a cool thing.
No great mileage when living in the UK. A great idea IMO and wish them all the best success with it and for anyone who buys in.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Izzop, I would too tbh. Nice to own a piece for the future, you never know where it will lead.

Red is a great ski hill and the standard of the local skiers is phenomenal. If you ever want to know for certain you're in the bottom quartile of skiers on a mountIn check it out. Then duck those trees don't take prisoners.

@stuarth, Don't think so, thought the point of the crowdfunding was to try and keep it low key and local and avoid a takeover by a big operator.............

@gryphea,
yes, certainly the latter. Though have to admit it is great that it is a bit more remote once you're there!
But it is probably easier to get to from the US than Canada. Spokane is the nearest reliable airport and there are no direct flights there from Vancouver. Driving there is non-trivial in the winter.
I saw talk again that Castlegar was looking to do something to make landing there somewhat more possible in less than optimal weather (which may be difficult without removing a couple of mountains!)
So perhaps Red Mountain could do something to encourage direct flights into Spokane?

It's a great place, did a few days there before going Cat / Heli Skiing, flew into Castlegar, didn't realise that was so flakey, Obvs really.
The ski leaders were great, retired guy, skied with me and my dad for a couple of days, he was also the key holder for the mine museum, so he took us down the mine one evening. Such a genuinely friendly scene.
Went a second time when the heli operation, conditions were unsafe, we flew in and landed in the carpark in a Bell 408, felt like a rockstar!
Great day skiing the Heli operation owners home hill.
I would love to go back.
