Just thought I would post a mini review. I bought these as a wide all mountain ski to compliment my piste orientated Head Magnum. No fresh snow here so I didn't use them for the first two days, but decided to try them out yesterday. Went out with some trepidation thinking they would struggle with hard icy pistes first thing in the morning. Well all I can say I loved them. Highly enjoyable ski and on the hard pistes in the morning I wasn't missing the Magnum at all. Awesome in the slush and far better in the slushy bumps and moguls than the heads. Highly recommended. Would be a great one ski quiver for someone who wants a ski that will be used on piste as well as off.

Are these this years CTI version? I am thinking of these or the 100mm (wider) version - I skiied on the 90s in December and really liked them.
Am torn between going also for the 176cm length or 180cm - currently ski on Salomon X-Drive 80 Ti - 177cm length, 80mm waist, but the Atomics have more rocker, so less effective length/edge on the slope ...
Any one any knowledge and able to compare the 90 and 100? I don't want to lose too much, if any ideally, of the on-piste carving ability of the Salomons.

I too bought a pair of 90CTIs cheap at the end of last year (bit of a whim). Took them to Morzine a couple of weeks ago and loved them. Happy on all pistes, although I would say they prefer the softer/fresher snow (not that they have seen 'fresh' yet)...carve beautifully and generally massive fun.
I got the 176 (I'm 175cm/73kg in new money) which I would say is bang on for me.
If I'm honest, probably too much overlap with my Latigos - the 100s might have been better in retrospect. But hey, I'm happy. And it'll be the Atomics that come to Val Thorens next week.

What weight are you?
What level skier are you?
How fast do you like to ski?
How much time will you (realistically) spend Off-Piste.
Will they be part of a quiver or are they a replacement?
The answer to these questions may help get an answer to your question.

Yes, CTI version. I'd avoid the 100s if you value on-piste performance to be honest. The big pull of the 90 is that it's an all-rounder. You really need to try them out to determine the best length for you. Personally I like short skis so I bought the 176 and they're fine. They do ski pretty short though, so maybe go for the 184?

Skiied for (too) MANY years - advanced level, reasonably fast and strong. 5ft 10 (178cm) and 13 st approx (81 kgs).
I guess over recent years as I've been able to do more skiing each season and upped my ability and confidence, and having done heli-skied twice and so on, it's now down to 60-70% on piste, maybe more, but increasingly venturing off into crud, true off-piste powder and so on but majority still on piste (European restrictions about insurance and guiding etc. force that but having skiied in Vail and other US resorts where one can effectively go anywhere and so end up in powder, crud, trees ... it's not so difficult over there to go into non-groomed conditions).
The Salomon's - despite being billed as "all mountain" are I think much more piste planks.
Ideally these would be a one ski quiver ... as I am tempted to get rid of the Salomon's (sell or give them to a family member).

@Ashridge I've skied all season on mine, even went so far as giving my Atomic Race LTs away as I never used them even on days when the snow was hard packed. For info I am a few kilos heavier than you and the 176s are fine for me.

I ski the 184 but am 6 2 and 15 stone. I think the 90s are a great one ski quiver and I enjoyed them more despite being on the piste all the time in very variable conditions hard mornings slushy by 12 than my dedicated piste ski (5 year old head magnum). In fact I didnt like being on the Magnums after 3 days on the vantage. The 184 looks a big ski and I personally wouldnt go for a 100 wide ski if you are mainly on piste. I would have thought the 176 90 wide ski would be a great choice.

I rented some in 184cm length for a week in Zillertal. Got to try them on the piste and offpiste in variable snow and a bit of power after a snowfall. I found them more stiff and felt longer than my Line SFB which are also 184cm (but have early tip and tail rise). I prefer my Bacons... I'm 6ft and 83kg.

I own Atomic Vantage 90 Cti 184cm and honestly I would not change them for any other ski. They are perfect for me. I've used them in any conditions from deep powder to icy hard pistes without problems. Even though they are light they are stiff enough to be very stable at high speed. And if you ski from 9 till 16:00 you will appreciate reduced weight.
A trully one ski quiver... imho

Also looking to buy skis. Atomic Vantage/Fischer Ranger 98, lots of advice and reviews for skis, but how do you choose bindings? Looked at Evo site which has guide to bindings, but still a multitude to chose from. Any advise.

@Ashridge FWIW I think for a reasonably aggressive advanced skier of your stats, who wants to do more off-piste but still have decent on-piste performance, I'd go for the 90 CTi in a 184.

Got a pair of the 176cms in the end as those were the length I skied and liked ...looking forward to trying them shortly on a second Warren Smith course in Cervinia!
