Poster: A snowHead
|
We’re taking our 4 and 6 year olds skiing for the first time this Christmas and are looking at buying some Dare2B kit to replace second hand Trespass and Columbia gear tha they’ve been using while learning.
Does anyone have any experience of the brand to say either it’d be fine or to avoid like the plague? Don’t want to spend too much on one season’s wear but also really don’t want them being cold and wet.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

The d2b kit I've had has been fine but they do make a spectrum of fabrics and finishes. I'd be most concern about buying overinsulated outerwear rather than layering it.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Got my son a Dare 2B jacket this year. It was too cheap not to buy it just to see, and was pleasantly surprised. Its not super high quality fabric that you could expect to survive a heavy rainstorm, but he'll get some good wear out of it. The mercury is heading towards zero in Sweden, so he's been wearing to school, and no complaints so far.

We have used dare2b for years for the kids and it has been great.
We always get their 10,000 range for the colder part of the season and that layered up with skins and a fleece have created zero problems
Other item we never got on with was their gloves as they just resulted in wet hands!
Good luck!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Daughter has had a Dare2B jacket for 3 seasons now - It was rather large when we got it for her!. It's been great. Very warm and great in the snow. She also has worn it as her school coat for the cold Yorkshire winters and has worn very well.
We were less impressed with the Dare 2B trousers though. The material was much thinner and not very heavyweight. Only lasted one season and the hem wore through, due to rubbing against her boots. Bought North Face ones as a replacement in the sale last year and they are perfect still (she wears them every week at Castleford).

I've used some of their top end soft shells and been very pleased with the performance level.
