Didn't even put them in. The two weeks we skied, early and late season, there was no off piste worthy of the name! Sad.

I didn't know I was supposed to remove the batteries. Haven't had a problem in 8 years since I started using it. Will do it this year since I know now

@never summer, If the batteries are good quality and fairly fresh you may well be ok, but to my mnd it's not worth the risk of them leaking inside an expensive piece of safety equipment.
