Heading to VT at easter and my 4 year old is getting the free under 5's lift pass.
However it says on the website (page 26 under "warning") http://www.valthorens.com/pdf/page-setam/ValThorens-Forfaits-Tarifs-2017-2018-En.pdf that a photo is COMPULSORY
Does anyone know if they have photo booths at the lift office or do i need to get my 4 year old to a photo booth here in the UK before we go?
I assume the rest of us won't need a photo.

Ski pass photos are digital and taken at the lift ticket purchase kassa next to the lifts - certainly in Austria. France must be the same - surely. Ange

@Stinkpickle, I am pretty sure it is the lift pass office that takes the pic. Certainly that was what I remember happening for ours. In ADH, La Plagne though - not Val T but sure they all operate the same.

Thank you - I haven't been skiing in 15 years and back then I definitely remember you had to take passport photos with you - and there was never a passport photo booth in the resort that we could find! So it was always on the pre-skiing check list.
Makes sense that it is now all digital and they take them at the lift office

Was in Les Menuires at the beginning of February, and having not been as prepared as you and actually read the website, I sent a photo from facebook to the family friend that had offered to collect all of the lifts for the little ones, worked out ok.
Possibly the same in VT given it's just down the valley.
Adults didn't require a photo.

@Stinkpickle, ah, modern times now. The lift ticket stays securely in your left pocket, any pocket from trousers to chest, no need to remove. Many valley lift barriers have cameras in the turnstile which record your pic, then the liftties have a monitor in their hut. This is to stop pass sharing, and it works, they have a good eye! Photos are taken for passes over 8 days when purchased. This is how it works in Austria where I am, I expect is the same in France. Most lift tickets are run by Skidata. Also, you can enter your lift ticket number on skiline.cc and see the lifts you have used and how much you have or haven't skied! Plus, there are some fun speed tracks etc which record videos. I don't know if Vt has this, it's fun though. My first ski holiday 17 years ago was a passport photo stuck on paper in a holder on an armband! Ange.

Our ski pass office takes a photo with a webcam or you can order online and upload a photo. Monitored and checked occasionally with an Ipad, or on a screen in the hut. They even spotted that my hair was shorter, and made me take my helmet off to check my ID.
