Poster: A snowHead
|
We wish to go on our first family ski holiday this year (sure this topic has been done to death)
Parents have skied a lot and would normally book last minute and ski hard all day (we realise this will change)
2x girls 3 (very young for age) and 4(young for age) years old
Either week of 25th march or 1st April
We need it to be easy and the girls to fall in love with skiing so we can go back year after.
We have looked at esprit, Neilson, mark Warner, family ski
Are there any great chalet operators who are really good with children - do drop off and pick up at snow nursery etc
Looking at children in snow club in morning and then family afternoons
Live in Nottingham so should we fly or drive?
Any help would be greatly receive

Family ski and Ski Famille are pretty brilliant but Esprit always has good reports too

@k1orange, we've used Esprit, there brilliant, totally geared up for kids, family rooms, breakfast together, drop kids off at boot room, they walk them to their lessons, and bring them back and give them lunch. You can then choose for them to be the kids club for the afternoon or collect then and do whatever you want. Kids eat at 5.30 adult at 8 so you get a bit of adult company. While your eating they have staff on each floor listening making sure the kids are OK. We have been to Obergurgle (Alpenblume)and VDI with them, most people we met were repeat customers which says a lot. ( We used to use Crystal bout them reduced the locations that had kids clubs etc, Esprit were significantly better)

Another recommendation for Esprit. We did you Mark Warner one year. We found Esprit better with little ones. Due to them sending a Esprit member of staff with the youngsters in lessons to help out, the baby listening service letting your children go to sleep at their normal bed time in their own bed, and the general organisations of children first thing on the morning.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

+1 for Esprit. We used them on recommendation for our first family ski holiday 6 years ago for exactly the same reasons (kids 4 & 5 had to fall in love with it). Esprit every year since (Selva x3, Gressonney x2 and Obergurgl x1) but this year was our last as ours have now outgrown the childcare. Really suited us and as previously posted they seem to have high % repeat business. Some people don't like the kids-eat-separately thing but ours much preferred to eat with their new friends than with us! Everything is supervised by their staff. Collection from the chalet/hotel each morning, skiing and kids' tea etc. You can choose how much of the childcare you want to use. For the first 2-3 trips they always had Esprit staff skiing with their groups as well as fluent English instructors.
No experience of other child-specialists but have heard great things about Snowbizz and Ski Famille here and in chalet conversations. Would not hesitate to recommend Esprit though. I couldn't imagine driving that distance with our kids so for me it would be flying every time!
We're in Grantham and tend to use regional airports (Birm and Manc). There are loads of related threads on here but happy to share our experiences if you PM me.

Esprit good, but Ski Famille awesome. Been back to them in les gets the last couple of years. They have childcare staff in each chalet and accompany them to ski school. Best ski holidays I've had with my kids.

Esprit good, used them a few times when the kids were younger - it was a while ago though as the kids are now 16 and 13 so childcare and ski school is now a distant memory

Another for Esprit chalet-hotels. We went last year and the year before as a single mum with with 2&3 year old. Although it will be a noisy holiday (kids everywhere!!), everything is taken care of and stress free. The daughter had a fantastic time and is now completely hooked on skiing. We're off on another next week yippee!

We have friends staying here in Les Gets on their way home from Maribel where they have been while grandchildren, daughter and SIL have been with Ski Esprit for a week. They were all very happy with Ski Esprit and would repeat. Here in LG we have Ski Famille and I have heard really good reports and the nannies round the village and accompanying the children to ski school seem a really nice cheerful and caring bunch, boys and girls.
