Poster: A snowHead

I love my new Marker Ampire helmet. It's a great helmet and is really comfortable however.. the earpads are so well fitted and padded I can hardly hear ! It therefore feels overly enclosed too.
Anyone any idea if alternative pads might be available to better the helmet that I really like.
I'd emailed Marker a couple times but the emails were rejected, I've Facebook messaged twice but without reply so any ideas/help very welcome.
Thanks
Paul

@paulmags, I doubt you can get alternative ear pads. The ear pads are designed to be removed or have audio systems inserted. The problem you have is the balancing act between improving sound transmission, and keeping your ears warm. You could try punching small eyelets through the middle of the ear pads.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Not to state the obvious but how long have you worn it for? When I first put mine on (Giro 9Ten) it goes a bit quiet but give it 2 minutes and my hearing picks up again.

Cheers, thanks both. I've worn if for a week and you're right it might still ease a bit. I'll take a closer look at the pads too and see if there's any option to let more sound through and also be able to better hear 'wife' ! It would be nice to hear from Marker at some stage too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I don't want this to sound extreme, but on mine the ear pads are just cloth bags with a sort of foam inside.
Maybe you could go to a tailor and see if they'll take the foam out and sew them back up. You'll lose a bit of heat insulation but obviously it'll get you your hearing back!

Get out the scissors and get cutting at that ear pad foam... That said I'd be surprised if there's not an easy way in there (most i've seen are designed for that) and some sort of perforated pop-out ear holes.

Hurrah, with some fiddling around I've got inside the earpads and taken out some foam. That should do the trick and thanks for all help. Great !
