Poster: A snowHead
|
Good evening,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a transfer company for Geneva to VT on the 5th to suit a 1920 arrival time and a return on the 12th to suit a 10am flight departure time?
We are a group of 3 and would prefer a shared transfer to minimise the cost.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Cheers

http://3sixtyalps.co.uk/ have always been good for transfers, might have some shared available on those dates too, worth an email.

You could hire an 'economy' car from Hertz via autoeurope.co.uk for £193. £268 via bensbus.co.uk on those dates.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Try www.findtransfers.com
We got our Megeve transfer through them.
Alternatively try Ski Magic transfers. We paid 75each return with them.

sean1967,
We've used Altibus, though they cost about €144 pp return. Unfortunately however I think their last daily departure from Geneva is at about 19.30/40 hrs, so you may need to hire a car. At that time of the night, assuming the roads are clear of snow (& traffic), the drive should take about two and a quarter hours.

If there are 3 of you, then 90% certain the best and cheapest way is to hire a car.
Have done this the last 4 years that we've been doing DIY ski trips.
Seems crazy way to do it at first, when you think about a hire car spending all week unused in the resort car park.
But a weeks car hire via a cheap online broker, plus a week's parking in resort is still significantly cheaper than pretty much any transfer I've ever seen. (If there's more than 2 of you)
Added benefit of being able to stop for a break whenever you want on the way to the mountains, shop before you get to the resort if you're self catering, have transport if needed during the week, and leave the resort at a time that suits you for your flight - rather than suits a tour company juggling half a dozen flights. (I.e. picked up at 5am, when your flight isn't until noon!)
