Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Avoid kneeling, avoid kneeling and avoid kneeling.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Difene or Voltarol.

I did suffer from tennis elbow which is the same inflammation as housemaid’s knee and I found ibuprofen gel worked well. I don’t think exercise would work as you need to get the inflammation under control and I would’ve thought exercise would aggravate it.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

As gvj said avoid kneeling.
I suffered from it for years when working as an electrician. Change of job cured it.

Mr G had bursitis ( which I think is what HM's knee is) but in the other bursa if the knee (2 of, I recall). He was also doing a lot of kneeling at the time, plus lots of car driving in slow traffic, which is what finally set it off badly.
His physio's advice was:
a) don't kneel;
b) ice ( bag of peas) frequently and every time it gets aggravated;
c) rest, avoid and don't aggravate it.
Apparently you can get steroid injections but they need a very specialist or well-trained person to administer them productively, though many GPs will offer them.
Mr G's cleared up on its own after a few months of rest, avoidance, knee pads and many bags of peas.
