Not sure if this is correct forum but was forwarded this clip the other day showing a Chinese skier taking part in a slalom event at the 2001 world champs at st Anton......you would have to admire the guys persistence but I would think the average snowHead here could do this course in a better time...according to the commentators he didn’t even have the correct skis on...?
Ten out of ten for determination, and using the wrong skis as well. Unbelievable. LMAO.
How on Earth was he even allowed to enter?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Just thinking was this a ‘special needs category’ comp or was it the main slalom event.....the commentators definitely don’t hold back with their sarcasm........ski hire shop saw this guy coming etc etc

Aww. Poor guy.
Took me back to my first ever race on plastic as a schoolboy.
It was a team slalom & my exuberance out of the start gate meant I missed one of the early gates. Having had the importance of a team finish drilled into us on the way to the event, I duly climbed back up like Win-Jack did and completed the course.
What I didn’t know was that in that race, there was a prize for most improved skier over the two runs, so I came home with a new boot bag for my efforts.
Result!

Ludicrous allowing him to take part a danger to himself .

In what way are they the wrong skis. He is on Atomic GS skis from around that time.
Under current GS race rules you would be disqualified if you come to a complete stop or if you get any help from a course worker. There is also a minimum standard for entry.

@rjs, the commentators said he was on the wrong skis. They said he was on downhill skis and suggested someone get him a pair of slalom skis before his next run.
