Poster: A snowHead

Fancy a train trip from Radstat to Salzburg on my return journey from Obertauern in Feb ..
Is just turning up and buying a ticket viable or do you get charged treble like in the UK if you don't book well in advance ?
Thanks in advance for any info

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Sometimes if you book in advance you can get a special offer ticket (particularly for long-distance, say Vienna - Sankt Anton am Arlberg), but the walk-up prices are fine.
A walk-up ticket Radstadt to Salzburg today would cost about 15 EUR.
Austrian railways' website is in English, if you want to price things up: https://tickets.oebb.at/en/ticket

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@CANV CANVINGTON, Not relevant to your train question but just back from Obertauren on Saturday
Conditions were fab with lots of fresh snow
Visibility was dodgy at times though

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The obertaurn story @Garfield, Great snow but sunshine can be at premium sometimes. Great to watch the weather rolling over the pass though .
Having usually cabbed in and out from Salzburg I'm leaving my board out there, so am going to try the train with less baggage to lug around .. looking into buses now for the journey down to the station ...
As a resort that gets lots of repeat business I'm surprised these isn't a facility there for people to leave skid and boards
