Poster: A snowHead

We're going to Tignes for a week in Feb 19-26, and we're looking for a private instructor for 5 of our group - ideally, mornings only.
Problem is, it's half-term week. All the major ski schools seem to be booked up with group lessons in the morning, so they're only offering private tuition in the afternoons. It's not the end of the world, but...
If anyone's got any contacts who may fit the bill, I'd be very grateful...

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@charlesw, what are you after instructor or guide or someone qualified to do both? i.e Off piste

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Very good point. The priority is instruction: a group of 5 (mums/kids) who are 3-to-4-week skiers, making the transition from blue-to-red. So that's the morning group.
But... two of us dads are keen to do some guided off-piste on a couple of afternoons, too.
In my magical fantasy non-half-term dream, it'd be hiring the same person for four mornings (Mon-Thurs) and full days on Tues & Thurs.

I'd highly recommmed 'Woody' - he's based in Val d'Isere and thanks to t'internet can confirm he is still with Progression ski... and here's a link to his facebook
https://www.facebook.com/pg/progressionskiandsnowboardschool/photos/?tab=album&album_id=143558062338130
mind you, that page hasn't been updated for years.. but he is a local legend really - so mention Neil Woody Woodward to Progression ski otherwise and you'll track him down.
Lovely guy and outstanding instructor...
He taught my wife to ski, one on one, and I was stunned by how quickly she progressed - on the chairlift and up the mountain off the nursery slop in no time...
And really great for intermediates etc as he is very 'new school' none of the old bend ze knees and weight way forward... will make huge improvments to your 3-4 weeks skiers and knows the area as you might imagine as he's 'Woody was one of the very first British instructors to work legally in France. Part of the furniture in Val d'Isere.'
He's a non-drinker but don't let that put you off!
Book the balcony at the Triffolet for lunch meetups after their morning lessons...

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you all for lovely responses - that's really useful, and much appreciated.
I've banged off a few emails, and put a pint behind the bar for you all in the White Horse Llandeilo.

FreeFloFloss is Tignes based and worked for me all week at the PSB.
She covered: one of the group lessons, specialist private instruction for a deaf snowHead, an off piste clinic and 3 days off piste guiding - all the feedback was superlative.
I didn't ski with her myself as I was unwell but if I had, and my experience matched the feedback I got from others, I'd be saying, "can not recommend highly enough!"
She knows the area well and likes a bit of touring too.
That all said, I doubt she'll be free that week but it can't hurt to PM her just in case.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Thanks once again. Most kind. I've just messaged her (like you say, she'll probably be booked but it's worth a shot).
