Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Free parking in Val d'Isère

 Poster: A snowHead

Anyone know if there's any free parking in Val d'Isère? Not overnight, just during the day. There's a thread here from 2010 that mentions Le Fornet but not sure if that's still current

Cheers

There is a large open-air car park in La Daille - very convenient for the Bellevarde funicular. Don't know if it's free though Puzzled

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I parked up in le fornet for a day earlier this season, theres a really small car park on the left hand side opposite the lift.

I couldn't see that i needed to pay and didn't get a ticket, but doesn't mean I shouldn't have as it seems odd to have such a small car park so close to a lift being free.

May be worth a try.

Would that work well @pam w? Does it take long? Not familiar with Val or tignes ski area. I was thinking about parking there and getting the bus, but it's €12 return ticket so negates the saving!

After all it is free Go on u know u want to!

As far as I can see here, the free parking is in Les Brevieres and in Tignes 1800. Would one of those be better than the other @pam w? Another factor is I can't walk too far in my boots so if there's a car park close enough to a lift, than doesn't take too long to get over to Val d'Isère, that would solve both my problems! @moseyp, If you are just buying a daily lift pass then it would be worth checking whether the cost of parking at Val Claret is included.

Parked in Tignes Les Brevieres today. It worked quite well because I avoided the last 20 mins drive into Val d'Isère. The road was clear all the way up. Did take a while to get over though. Also, apparently I can only use the pool in Tignes, instead of Val, because I bought the lift passhere!
