Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking for protective brace for knees any recommendations?

Following a not very bad knee injury last year, I've begun to realise that you can get knee braces which are protective (not for convalescence - for prevention or rather, I guess, helping to prevent ... knee twists). Some are very high tech and expensive. I think that is beyond my needs. I've seen braces that seem to indicate they are protective for around £50-80 (UK). There's a lot about protecting the patella. I haven't had patella as a problem - my certificate from the doc says "traumatise de genou - left side", or as I would say, "Pulled something really hard on the side of my knee and couldn't walk without a stick for several days, let alone ski, however was much better by the end of the week."

Can anyone suggest or recommend a type of knee brace that would give enough extra support to prevent or minimise knee twisting on the kind of slow fall where the ski involved just does not come off in time? Or am I on a goose chase?

(I am looking at binding options separately.)

Thanks for any pointers.

If you really want something that will work prophylactically you need to go well north of £100 I'm (and that of my surgeon). Check out moto X braces for a reference. Jonathan Bell will also weigh in if he's around soon.
