If we were to fly to Zurich, how easy is it to get to St Anton?
And how much would it cost?
Flights to Zurich are much (circa £100) cheaper then Innsbruck...
Thanks
James

You have shuttle bus, or you can reach by train.....there are a lot of options, they costs between 40-60€. Search in the St.Anton web

When we went to Lech we had transfers on The Arlberg Express (at least I think that's what it was called) Picked us up at the airport and took folks directly to Lech, Zuers, and St. Anton. Quite convenient.

If you don't like a bus, it's about 3 hours best time by train - 15 minutes into Zurich main station from the airport (trains every 15 minutes or so) and then 2 1/2 hours direct to St Anton. Mind you, the direct trains aren't that regular and the ones involving connections bump up the transfer times. Try sbb.ch for timetables.
Have you considered flying to Munich ? I did it years ago and it was cheaper than Innsbruck or Zurich - depends on how Easyjet/Ryanair are booking up I guess. It's about 4 hours on the train (you go via Innsbruk).

We're looking at Friedrichshafen now. It's cheaper and about the same distance as Innsbruck...
So I pose the same question. Is it any easier this way?
Thanks very much!

I think that there may be a train direct from Friedrichshafen to St Anton. The train station is outside the terminal building. Coach transfer is about an two and a half hours, I think. There are plenty of TO transfer buses that go from there to St Anton, don't know about any private coach transfers.
Overall, it's pretty easy to get to from there I think.

yup, looks a good bet - trains to St Anton run direct in 2 1/4 hours and less than 3 even if you have to change.
Not sure if the train station referred to by Kramer is the main one for the town, or if you need to transfer in, but I'm sure if you checked out the airport website you'd find out.

It's pretty small to be the only station for the town, but I'm pretty sure that you can go direct from there to St Anton.

It's not far but you have to change 3 times when going from Friedrichshafen to St Anton by train. It's doable if you're on your tod but if there's more of you I'd hire a car .. it's only about an hour's drive.

You know it makes sense.

The Loaker Tours bus shuttle will get you in and out of resort easier and earlier than the train from Fried. If you're on the Maria Theresa from Zurich then dump your gear, pop into the buffet car. A snack and a couple of beers later, you'll be in St A by 4pm (16:10 is it Stanton?) Used to do it all the time till they changd the Easyjet flight from Luton which meant it no longer links to it.
