We are wanting to go snowboarding, and I believe it's better when there are chairlifts. Do you know of anywhere in Europe that is best at this

Come over to la Clusaz (and Le Grand Bornand) there are loads of lovely places to board and the snow is fab at the moment! The off-piste is superb as we have just had a good dump of snow.
We have some good deals on the moment if you are interested £200pp for a 3 night break anytime between the 28Jan to the 11 Feb.

schladming had only one drag that I saw/used - everything else was gondola/fast chair. Easy to reach from salzburg.
No flats on runs either, expect the link between hauswer kailbling and planai - which I think is probably a royal pain on a board - there is a bus you can use instead though

Val d'Isere has very few drags and loads of chairs. Also some of the best advanced terrrain around. Not renowned for being cheap mind you!

FishBall, I'm assuming that you specifically prefer chairlifts to drag lifts - in which case, the Three Valleys probably have the most advanced lift system around with very few drag lifts. Many routes involve gondola or Funitel lifts, which I assume you have no objection to?

I've skied around La Plagne without ever using drags (altho' they do exist). There are a couple of flat spots but they didn't seem to worry most boarders who were getting loads of miles in after plodding across them. Might not be too cheap but it is possible for a weekend using the snowtrain.

FishBall, i've not been to a place in europe where there are that many drags. Plus they're easy on a board, don't be so scared of them and a just relax..............although you may want to check your wedding tackle after the ride if it starts to get steep!!

Still a few drags in Austria and Switzerland; best to stick to France & Italy IMHO where there are usually very few drags or Tbars.

Les Deux Alpes is pretty darn good for boarders I hear - I know the snowpark there is second to none!
