Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Glasgow Ski Lessons

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello!

I'm looking to get some advanced lessons in Glasgow, preferably in Xscape/ Soar/ Whatever it's being called these days.

I passed my BASI level 1 about 18 months ago and was told I still need to do a bit of work on my carving. My concern is that it seems pretty geared up for beginners in terms of getting lessons.

I've noticed a guy in full BASI gear a couple of times there taking what appeared to be a fairly advanced lesson. Has anyone got any more info on this kind of thing? I've got a ski trip coming up in Feb and would like to hit the ground running!

Thanks

Stuart

It's Duncan you need to be talking to - L4 BASI trainer and mostly working in Glasgow this season. He's done a deal with Braehead so he can do lessons independently there. Contact him through http://www.internationalsnowsportschool.com/

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There`s an older guy that instructs at Braehead sometimes. I`m not sure what his name is but he`s been skiing for a very long time and he`s excellent. He`s given me some advice a few times and been very helpful. Shona at Nevisport will know.

Balernostu on here does this. He does the instructor training there for the staff.

Duncan would be a great option to train with, a very experienced instructor/trainer. In the summer Murray Howie (ISTD) ran a few coaching days and I heard very positive feedback.

Thanks for the mention, @geeo, indeed I have been doing part of the staff training though the overall programme including lesson content etc is actually run by senior Snow Factor instructors.
