Poster: A snowHead

I organise a Summer training week to a European glacier each year for Midland Ski Club, using an ABTA agent. Publicity got a bit delayed this year for a number of reasons and I have several places left to fill by March.
This year we are going to Tignes from 1st - 8th July. Is anyone out there interested in improving their skiing / boarding by joining a very sociable and mixed group? Our coaches can cater for intermediate to ski racer levels for skiing and intermediate level boarders.
The trip is half board, with afternoon tea, at Hotel Club Curling in Val Claret.
Return flights from Manchester & transfers in France.
6 day lift passes
6 days of coaching from approx 09:00 - 13:00 hrs
£560, based on 2 people sharing a twin room. Can also offer 3 person rooms. We have a number of single people going who are willing to share.
Afternoons free for other activities. We hope to go white water rafting one day. Cost TBA.
If you would like more details, please contact: maureen@ims-lifebalance.com
Please note: MSC operate a policy that all discounts are shared across the group, i.e. the organiser does it for the love of organising, not for a free place!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Maureen Crombleholme, Oh, if only I had the money! I could take my mountain bike and go skiing in the morning and riding in the afternoon - and even after beer the price would be unde £600 as I'd be too knackered to do anything in the evenings!
It's still £600 that I don't have though
Good luck with it all.

Maureen Crombleholme, I'm quite interested in why you don't use local coaches - not being funny, but we're all scratching in the summer and we live in the resorts (I'm in LDA). there must be loads in tignes too. I assume all your coaches have their "Carte Professionelle" and thus are properly legal???
Welcome to Snowheads BTW.

Clubs can take their own instructors can't they?

ise, Yes - but I think they still have to have recognised qualifications, and you'd have to be amember of the club I assume?

Most clubs will generally use their own qualified coaches because of the long-term relationship that develops - probably the same reason Antoine Deneriaz doesn't use have a different coach everytime he skis . Whilst that may not initially apply to a snowhead who joins such a trip, I know of quite a few people who have joined a club especially to go on a specific trip and have got on well with the coach that they've gone on subsequent trips largely because that coach is going.
And easiski, I know the MSC has used local instructors in LDA, yourself included (although it was a few years ago).
