@Dave of the Marmottes, It continues to snow in the Valais. It snowed last night. It snowed the night before. And the night before that. I hope that this is a consequence of some tiny change in the Arctic Ice Shelf and has set off a circulatory change which means that this year will be remembered not as the last flush of a colder world but the first of the new ‘Snowfall in the Alps Age’. Who knows.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

One of the best days of the season yesterday. Started overcast and the FWT comp got postponed so only option was to go skiing....

Ouch just back from the relative powder conditions of bonnie Scotland and the snowpack has taken a pounding from the warm weather over the weekend. Fingers crossed for colder temps and a decent top up tomorrow!
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Not sure I agree, first time skiing in April this weekend in Chamonix. Skied the iciest and stickiest/slushiest snow ever! Definitely had better snow for Christmas and mid March trips!

I'm just learning Davinci 14 whilst Beta 15 downloads (released yesterday, apparently). It's limited to 1280p exports, it seems, but otherwise fully featured.
Here's a 27 second video from one day last week. In BC/AB the conditions were more winter than spring. I'd expected warm days with corn snow, but came across none of that. Temperatures were from about -15 through -5. In the back country there was some minot sun affect on slopes facing the wrong way (melt then freeze), and a teeny bit of wind affected one day in the wrong places. There was also fresh dust through powder, albeit not "blower" most days. Slide risk... well there was extensive sloughing and visible slides in the wrong places. They were getting dumped on as I left...

Ooh didn't see this last week. Thanks to Sideways_Jnr needing to be in Val Claret every morning for 9am for snowboard lessons, I was making my way down Trolles most mornings commuting to Lac, half of which were in fresh powder and I was putting maybe the 4th or 5th set of lines on it...
Happy days people, Happy days...
