I saw that at least it is closed for the right reason - heavy snow. Hopefully it will be cleared for you tomorrow.

The official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) from the airport currently says:

which suggests they are currently estimating reopening the runway at 1500 UTC (1600 UK, 1700 local)

I reckon johnboy's timed it perfectly and the runway will be clear.
More importantly, he has clearance for takeoff into 3ft of fresh powder.

And I am off to Turin 1st thing tomorrow morning
Currently they have the following note on their website:
Quote: |
27/01/2006
WARNING TO PASSENGERS
The airport is open.
Due to bad weather, incoming and outgoing flights may be delayed for snow clearance operations and according to changes in weather conditions. |
Their board seems to show inbound flights unaffected, but it doesn't seem as though much is taking off so hopefully at 10:00am tomorrow morning we will be landing.

This is just so typical of Ryanair. All other carriers manage to take off and land but, one flurry of snow, and Ryanair cancel everything. As I said, Ryanair are great but, if anything goes wrong, they are c***.

jb1970, don't blame Ryanair at the moment - the runway at Bergamo is still closed.

No, seriously, Ryanair have a habit of cancelling flights due to "bad weather" when other carriers manage to take off and land with no problems!

is it because they don't want to risk one of their planes being fog or snow bound at the airport it lands at - far better to have it available for another route, whereas other airlines have flexibility in their schedules which allows other planes to compensate better if one plane is stranded?
another reason to not go ryanair!

jb1970, as happened in great number last week. Over-rosetered pilots ran out of flying hours: result being cancelled flights as they had no-one to fly them.

Spoken today to a friend who lives near Bergamo, they have had 600mm of snow. It has already been snowing non-stop for 36 hours and the forecast is for it to snow all tomorrow as well. That might have contributed to the delays
