Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello,
I'm going to La Plagne on 12/3/17. I booked with Alpine Elements who offer only 5 days x 2 hour group ski lessons, but I don't want lessons for 5 days.
What I would ideally like to do is either 3 x 3hrs or 2 x 3hrs group lessons.
Do you know for sure of any ski schools in La Plagne (we're in 1800) that offer such a thing?
Thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Reflex are a small Independant school that I couldn't recommend highly enough.

I think Skinewgen offer clinics, which are 2 x 3hrs, or 3 x 2hrs.

Thanks for the feedback.
I can't afford clinics, only group sessions.
I'll follow the advice given.

I got a refund from AE (£307), and got ski/boot hire and 5x3hr lessons for a total of £188 (ski lessons from ESF £122, ski/boot £66 from Plagne 1800 Sports through Alpine Resorts.com), meeting point at Melezes lift in 1800. I'll either do the full five days or bunk off the last two.
@RKat, more than happy to meet up, though, having looked into it, there aren't that many places to actually go! Myself and my friend (hi creepy Stu!) are in a catered chalet in 1800, which has 2 bars, one is supposed to be s**t (Mine) and the other one is worse (Bobsleigh), and I don't think there's MUCH better in La Plagne centre.

@marodo2712, I did a season in La Plagne, living and running a chalet in Plagne 1800. La Plagne isn't the best for nightlife, it's pretty quiet, but the skiing is amazing. La Mine is the best bar in 1800 and is actually pretty decent, although the toilets are god awful!!!
PlanJA which was the dutch bar in Plagne Centre was always were we would go (less chance of bumping into our guests), but I think that has either closed or changed hands now.

I've had a look and can't see anything called PlanJA. It's pretty much Scotty's and Igloo in the centre and a couple of others spread around. I think the French are missing a trick here, there should be half a dozen good bars in the centre and a modest night club.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I'd completely forgotten about them until just then - you just brought back the memories from a rather beery haze!
@marodo2712 - I agree, there's a real gap in the market there, I wonder if there's some local resistance or just that nobody has tried yet.
