 Poster: A snowHead

We are planning on returning to the slopes with our son (will be 36 months on the planned week of travel) but dont really know where to start regarding the planning. We just used to find a good deal and go to wherever but now things are a bit more complicated!
We would like to put him in some sort of childcare/nursery so we can get some skiing done together but also spend some time with him playing on the slopes. Im not really expecting him to go in a ski school as hes probably too young but some sort of activity based creche would be great.
Can anybody offer any recommendations for resorts/accommodation/nurseries? Preferably in Austria or Italy.
Any advice from your personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

I personally recommend going with Esprit. They are geared up with clubs for the children and will take them skiing from age 3. My youngest did ski at three with them. They have snow rangers who go with them into the lessons.

Snowbizz in Puy St Vincent. We had 2 years of poo-poo to middling skiing with our kid at various resorts, and then went to Snowbizz. They loved it, learned lots and we haven't looked back since. Haven't been back to Snowbizz either to be fair, but that was just because we couldn't afford it. The first time we went the kids were sub school age I think .
Anyway Snowbizz, noisy basic appartments; self catering' tiny little resort. But you won't care because they will succeed with the one key thing you want them to do....
They'll make your kids love skiing.

@redfoxjim, +1 for Esprit we used the twice, once in Obergurgl and Val D isere. VDI is a bigger hotel, so potentially more friends to make, Obergurgl smaller hotel and resort is a bit easier to get back to spend time with him. Quality of food and staff was excellent in both resorts.

Been to both and both are great. Nice short transfers, nice and close to the lift.
With the Pepi Gabl, St Anton the nursery slope is right behind the hotel with the magic carpet. With Gressoney due to us going in April they had to bus the little ones over to another area. So that is dependent on weather.
Both have play grounds they take the children to.

@redfoxjim, Esprit - very good, hard to fault really regards the childcare at least.
We have been with them lots when our kids were small(er). The age at which different ski schools take little varies- some do group lessons or 3 some only from 4 (all in a snow garden). In Obergurgle they took our youngest at 3- he had blast. Our eldest had 1:1 in VDI at 3 and also had a lot of fun.
You need to seriously recalibrate your expectations (which it seems you have in your post).
CONTINENCE- very important and a sneaky nappy may be required in the cold and in fartbags. Or just accept hotleg action and stinky ski boots.......oh yes.....
Get em young- start watching ski movies with him now- Youtube, Warren Miller, Powderwhore if you drop knees not bombs....
Before you know it he will be punishing you!

Galtenberg Hotel in Alpbach was incredible - took our three year old twins there this year. Amazing facilities, not cheap but you really do get what you pay for

Ski famille. Choice or resorts. Very good with the children.
Mine are a bit older now and bumped into some Ski famille mums on my last trip, they were very pleased with everything.
