Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I saw the thread about the demise of the alps night trains, and was wondering how this would affect my options regarding an Easter 2017 trip (by train) to Val Thorens? We (2 of us) are looking at Sat 8th April, returning either Monday 17th or Tuesday 18th.
Am I going to be able to arrange a train option that covers this? How easy will it be (lots of changes, etc)? What sort of cost should I expect?
Any help/ opinions would be much appreciated
Nick

@faithsdaddy
, Depending on where you start from there could be lots of changes involved going all the way by train or none at all. Easter 2017 is still a long way away, but at the moment there is a direct train from London to Moutiers during Winter weekends (That would be 2 or 3 changes for me). Coming back there are plenty of options with possible changes at Paris, Lyon, Lille and CdG, London etc.
As

Probably won't make a great deal of difference, but I've signed
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The release the tickets way to late. We've taken the train, really enjoyed it but flights are out so early now that you have to make a choice early. Last 2 years booking a flight in July was such good value that waiting until November at 4am to see how cheap I could get an overnight train is just not worth it. Though I am glad we did do the train, rather special going to sleep in Paris and walking out onto a snow covered platform at 7am in Bourg....
