Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

TUI to sell off Ski Brands BUT keep Crystal

TUI will sell off its specialist group which has several ski brands but will keep Crystal.
The remaining companies will be re branded under Travelopia until sold.

Maybe the Germans (Tui) are just dumping them in case of a Brexit figuring that UK customers will not be able to afford to go skiing?

Maybe...but wouldn't they just wait until the result of the referendum? I suspect return on investment and profit not enough for them, in what is a fairly competitive market.

Surely the point of a brand is that it is well known, I did not say the offering was crap as I have no idea.

Only know of two of them...but unless you arranged school trips or university holidays I wouldn't expect you to have heard them.

Some niche brands in there: Exodus must be reasonably sized and some higher end escorted travel type stuff. Bit basically Tui are saying their core market is putting Germans, Brits etc on sunbeds and the bunny hill.

Yes significantly . Sterling has fallen against the Euro but if their is a Brexit (Unlikely according to the bookies) it could fall 20-30%

Operating costs of british run Chalets would rise because they would have to incorporate in the country of operation, hire local EU staff paying a salary, insurances, social , pensions. etc.

I know to my personal cost just how much a ski company brand is worth (not very much at all if anyone had any doubt) ...

HTS is a poor school ski company, and Ski Bound is a bit bargain bucket... Can't be much margin in either...
