@davidof, gotta hand it to her though, she did seem to have a certain sang froid when it came to looking death right in the face. Either that, or she didn't know that she had just looked death right in the face.

We saw that one last year I recall. Don't know who poor old Gerry is. Now that is somewhere an ice axe might have been handy (although crampons even more useful).

@davidof, ...clearly, the guy in the first vid's motto is:

You know it makes sense.

@rob@rar, ...and I am not sure that the guy in grey got away with it - his demeanour is very much that of someone with the passive confusion displayed by a person with a head injury.

Perhaps, or just naturally stupid.
As davidof said, an ice axe or crampons might have been nice, and the nous to strap your skis to your pack if you need to climb down a pitch.

On a serious note the conditions are generally quite unstable across the Northern French alps at the moment during this "little winter" with 30 to 70cm of fresh snow in some sectors accompanied by some strong winds from the N.

I was thinking of this thread
http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=2884866
and it is clearly the slope where Haggis Trap's ice axe would have been useful.

Keep pushing like that Jerry and you won't be living long.
