Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I normally only go there between mid-Nov and mid-Dec as after that I have too many closer options, but I've never had an issue with snow.
For transfers speak to Ted at http://www.whitedescents.com (I think he's on holiday atm though), or get the airport bus to the train station in IBK, train to Ötztal Bahnhof, then bus up the valley.

We've been at Christmas and NY and it's magical. Depending how many you are, taxi from INN can be very economical and only 90 minutes.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

i went 2 or 3 years ago. We flew to Munich and it was cheaper to hire a car and park it at the hotel for a week although Innsbruck would be much closer in price. We went over Xmas and there was plenty of snow even though the village didnt have any. They have invested well to make sure there is enough snowmaking equipment.

I've been to Obergurgl a couple of times flying into/ out of Innsbruck. It cost me €150 for a one-way taxi (3 years ago) amongst 4 of us took about 1.5hrs. I've also used the public transport network which involved a walk, a train and a bus which cost around €30ea and took about 2.5hrs.
This year with the POWder card you can explore onto the glaciers of Solden. Great place, thoroughly recommended.

Thanks @clarky999, for the recommendation.
There´s great snow here in Tirol right now, with Obergurgl opening the lifts on Thursday. It´s a great start to the season so Christmas should be great.
