Bought my skis on Glisshop last year; fantastic service, cheap than anywhere else and a great bonus point scheme for future discounts!

Deals are good at the moment and if you want them for this season go for it although if buying for next season it could pay to wait. I bought Rossignol Experience 88 from them in July for £281 delivered. Then used the points for some new poles. Currently these skis are £342 so there may still be bigger discounts to come. Just need to play the game of how long to hang on for until committing to buy. Good fun.
I would expect them to start discounting what they have left still more once this half term peak sales are past.
Have since bought a few other things from them and found them good on delivery and customer service.

Is there any truth in some of their skis being rental stock; that is of a different quality to " normal" retail skis?

Not heard that rumour before and sure that I am not a good or experienced enough skier to know the difference. On my skis the graphics are right, the bindings are right and they ski beautifully so even if they are "rentals" I'm happy with what I have and the price I paid. I did look at the skis available in resort for rent and found plenty of 77's,80's and 84's for rent but no 88's so I am reasonably certain that they are genuine retail.

Happened to me about 3 years ago. Skis were rental model and not explicitly described as such, they did offer a full refund but bit of a pain shipping them back overseas so ended up keeping them, but never been totally happy with them. They updated the website description later that day, and I think it was an 'oversight' rather than deliberate policy.
And I can't think that badly of them cause this thread prompted me to revisit their site and almost bought a new pair of skis - but ended up buying from edge and wax so I could get them in time for going away this weekend. I'd call that an impulse buy!

Was a having a good look through the site - and is very well done - in that it is a French concern, and 90% sure all their logistics are out of France.

@BertieG, yes they do stock some rental skis - these are labelled for example "Blizzard Brahma 2015 RTL" so they are easy to tell which ones are the rental equivalent.

Yes they are a French company with this GB website a more recent addition Faultless transaction and delivery for me even though it's all came from France. DPD delivery is always spot on too.

@Weathercam, pretty lazy marketing in my opinion, "buy from us 'cos we're based in Britain". I live 190 miles away so they are just another online retailer to me, and not a well pricing one at that either.

Edge and wax return on skis would be the same as gliss. Only thing they should concentrate on is pre and after sales advice as per previous posts

Handy edge & wax posting that advert. There are a couple of euro web pages I was not aware of. Will add them to my list of places to price check against.

Edge&Wax offer excellent service and as the advert says, they do offer to match if possible.

Do Edge and Wax actually sell any skis that are made in Britain? Or anything made in Britain for that matter? As for me, Edge and Wax is further away than the other shops so I'll stick with the others!

@Pumba, My thoughts exactly - why would they compare themselves to online retailers when this great service they offer is only available if you visit the store...moreover if I buy a nice set of Atomic Skis are they "British" or were they still made in Altenmarkt, Austria?
I have no problem with them being a great place to buy skis and boots etc, but the marketing seems to be totally off, why not concentrate on what they do best rather than compare themselves to their online competitors whom in most cases will offer better prices and availability.
