Hi, do you know if the funicular from Bourg to Les Arcs is still broken?

@Robskiing, welcome to snowheads
I wasn't aware it was broken at all?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Robskiing, from what I’ve seen it is scheduled to run this winter.

@Robskiing, thanks, wasn;t aware of that. Normally the funicular would run year round, maybe they will make repairs over summer? THe les arcs websit certainly suggests it will be running as scheduled this winter

Fraid not. It only runs during the winter ski season and the summer holiday season.

I asked in the local Facebook group and it appears that the work has been completed, is now being tested and subject to local authority approval will be running from the start of the winter season (10 December).

Haven't seen anything officially official yet either, but I would point out that the article linked by @Robskiing contains several mis-translations from similar articles available in French elsewhere. French versions suggest that staged work over 3 years had originally been planned, but that the situation at the start of the summer forced them to accelerate the program and complete the work all at once, hence the closure this summer.
It is also not the rails that are being replaced (as stated in the article) but the expansion joints.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.
