Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any suggestions of where we can hire chains in France near the alps. We booked chains through holiday autos (aus website) and had to rent a particular class of car to get chains at the location (CDG). Needless to say neither car or chains were available so we were given an upgrade to a daft car (bmw 4 series) and assured we could buy chains really cheaply. Being a daft car it has low profile alloys and the cheapest chains we can find for it are 200 euro - feuvert and carfour dont have anything. We need to be able to drop the chains back on a Sat arvo before flying back to Oz from Lyon so somewhere near the airport in Lyon, Sallanches or in between with an up market range for the daft car would be ideal.

Sorry can't help but am bumping this up for you as I am appalled at the attitude and downright lies of the car hire company. A few years ago I booked chains only to be told they hadn't got any when we picked the car up. Luckily, it was wall to wall sunshine all holiday and we didn't need them. Looks like you will.
