@musher, gravity hasn't changed.  It is the secret chemicals (probably Zardox) they put in the snow cannons that is making it faster.

gravity might not have changed, but global warming means air density is fractionally lower, hence drag on the flakes is not quite as much

Forget the snow, different coloured ski clothes make a difference due to the amount of light reflected as opposed to absorbed. And everyone already knows that the red suits are faster than any other colour.
